COTTAGE/SMALL SCALE TOMATO PROCESSING

You Will Face Many Defeats In Your Life, but Never Let Yourself Be Defeated-Maya Angelou

TOMATO PROCESSING
This is a business any Diaspora can start in Africa. There are more to be gain by providing for peoples need. Do you know that up to 60% of tomatoes are wasted in Africa by not making use of post harvest systems that are available, most of these systems are not difficult to apply.
During the peak season most farmers sell their tomatoes at throw-away prices and substantial quantities go to waste because they are highly perishable, by processing this tomatoes you can supply tomato products all year round, this is what i call money spinning venture.

Diaspora, this is an opportunity to be grab with both hands, you can process tomatoes into various products for storage and use at home or as value-added products for income generation.

You need to start small, you only need two other people to

work with you, with your machines and tools.

Add value to this product and you are on your way to success (financial, employer of labour), many stores will be looking for you to sign contract with you to be their supplier.                        You don't have to buy big machine that you won't utilize the full capacity of the machine. This is one of the mistakes diaspora always made by investing in big machinery and equipment, which will not be suitable for initial project.
When you want to purchase machine, there are major factors you must consider before you buy your machine(s).
These questions and answers are in my CD, DVD and Project profile

There is a perception gap about doing business on the continent, says Dirk Hoke, CEO of Siemens’ Industry Solutions Division.
According to Hoke, who was previously in charge of the company’s African operations, the image of the continent portrayed by the media is often very gloomy. “When I first got this job, friends and business colleagues thought it was not a promotion, it was a punishment,” Hoke wrote in an article published in Ernst & Young’s 2011 Africa attractiveness survey.”

“People were so worried about the Soccer World Cup in South Africa, but when they saw it was peaceful and well organised, the only thing they could complain about was the vuvuzela’s,” he added.
He said that there are various risks involved in doing business in Africa, and that it is essential to have a strong presence on the continent itself in order to identify potential hazards. “The risks are . . . high; they are manageable, but this can’t be done from Switzerland or London.” source-howwemadeitinafrica

"We don’t export now. Export to the West African coast, yes, all along the West African coast, yes, but to say, America or to England, I’m not interested in it at all. If 40 percent of the 120 million people in Nigeria are children, I have the potential of a huge market here." (source-africaopenforbusiness)
